Slow, but steady

Yes, it's been a wholelotta monotony around Tukwila lately... we'd rather not bore our readers with - "went to Blue C" or "went to Taco Del Mar" day after day.

Some notable updates:
- The Taco Queen is still missing.
- DeDe has put in for a transfer to the U-Village Blue C, but apparently it's such a popular spot to work, she'll need to wait for someone to die before she can move.

B and I did go to the Jack Shack yesterday - I was craving tacos with girth. However, we sat on the dining side, rather than the bar side (aka: slut side) of the restaurant, so our server didn't mention girth, nor was he (emphasis on gender) dressed in a way that inspired us to think he works the late, late shift on Aurora. The dining side of Joey's is like any other eatery, it's when you go to the bar side that the atmosphere changes into something that resembles the movie set of Coyote Ugly.

I suppose we should spice it up a bit so we'll have something to write about. What we need are more suggestions. Is there a place in Tukwila that you've been wanting to try, but haven't? Send us there! Have you been to a place where the food is great, but the service/atmosphere/location is laughable? Tell us!

Having worked in Tukwila for the past 8 years, we're always looking for new haunts. If you know of a place that we should try out - let us know!

What the Pho, What the Pho please oh please try out What the Pho. It's over in the Southcenter area near ceFiore. I haven't made it there yet but last week I saw people coming/going I think it's finally open. And what about lunch at ACME one day? I hear their sliders are down right decent. And please oh please try Bullwinkle's at the Family Fun Center. Yes for lunch. I suggest the Chicken Caesar Salad w/ the tasty breadstick. But I really think you should ride the Screamin' Swing before lunch. Key advice there, BEFORE Lunch. Don't ride the ride after lunch...bad idea. Would love to see video or hear B's take on the Screamin' Swing as well as the food.

We've all been either too busy or too lazy to write about our lunchtime adventures, but know this - we have had lunches - some were fabulous, others were sadly disappointing (Mali Thai) and at least one was down-right scandalous (Joey's). ACME Bites

On M's suggestion, B and I went to ACME Bowl for lunch today. I had the veggie burger, and B had the Chipotle burger, both were above average for bowling alley fare, and the service was good, but slow. I suspected that our waiter was also the cook, since he would disappear for periods of time into the kitchen, and come out later with trays of food. While the restaurant was slow (there were only two other tables besides us), the alley was busy with lots of teenagers, single ladies, and divorced fathers with their kids. There was one family whose mother and father were both such bad bowlers that their three sons, ages 8 - 5 were wiping the alleys with them. One final score was Mom: 60, little Johnny: 75. All I kept thinking was - how embarrassing to be so bad at a sport that even a child is better than you. I mean, even though I myself bowl a 65, at least I don't have some toddler hanging around trying to showing me up! Anyway - it was a fun adventure, and outside the norm. B a

M. Dares Casino Food

Today, we have a special report from faithful (and intrepid) reader, M. on the Riverside Casino: Today I rolled the dice and had lunch at the Riverside Casino. Thai Curry Chicken Fried Rice was highly recommended to me by someone....that I can only assume doesn't eat out much. I mean the guy raved about this dinner and I just don't get the hub-bub. But they do have pad t hai and I'm a sucker for pad t hai so I might actually venture back one day. Their parking lot is packed lunch & dinner hours and I mean PACKED! I don't feel I have solved the mystery is it food or the card games? On a positive note, the service was fast. You will not get a seat at the Baccarat table - that area is non-stop action from open to close, but the restaurant portion has plenty of open tables if you go before 1pm. The place is open 24/7 and serves breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime. No website. The place does not smell like smoke - it had a recent remodel and is decent. And I have easil
