Low Profile Lunch

It's best to keep this short and sweet. B had lunch at Whole Foods (I made a delightful taco salad) with a "friend". Good food, good times, good friend.

Food: 4/5 I feel like a food artist whenever I eat at the Whole Foods salad/hot food bar

Good Times: 5/5 NO TUKWILA!

Fear of having my T2 posting capability revoked 3/5

Lunching with my pregnant unnamed friend 5/5

Ahh Whole Foods, very pretty veggies and produce. Today I made a venture of my own into Georgetown. Via Tribunali, so worth the scary drive down the ally that is Vale Street. The pizza at Via Tribunali is so worth dodging a vagrant so I could edge into a sketchy parking spot. I asked the Italian man taking our order to explain the menu to me twice. Hey my Community College Italian is not so poor. I know Prusciutto E Funghi is a fancy mushroom pizza....but I wanted to close my eyes and ask him to read the Yellow Pages. Italian man's accent is almost as delicious as the food. Party of four, we each ordered our own pizza thinking we'd get small individual pizzas. Not the case - serious strategic mistake. The tables are small and the pies are huge. Share a pizza. Oh and you know what's weird - you have to cut your own pizza with a small steak knife. Weird. And try to sit so you can see the door because 100% of the patrons tried to pull the door - you can't it's a push door. I got the giggles during lunch because of it.

The Dante pizza has meat on it I think it's smoked Prusciutto. I have vegetarian tendencies and don't often eat lots of dead stuff but oh my heavens that Dante Pizza is amazing. Arugual all over it too which was unexpected. The tomato sauce is made fresh not some jarred stuff. Awesome!

Prices start at $7 for a lunch salad. $10 to $14 for a pizza. Lunch menu is small, very small. Dinner menu three times the size.

Check it out. Park by Bank of America it's better parking than what I found on the street. And don't let Vale Street scare you off.

B - I suspect you ate your "Art Salad" with the Artificial Woman - and in Downtown Seattle no less. I'm curious B, did your lunch taste like treason?

We'll have to talk about this on Tuesday.

The Jack Shack

We've all been either too busy or too lazy to write about our lunchtime adventures, but know this - we have had lunches - some were fabulous, others were sadly disappointing (Mali Thai) and at least one was down-right scandalous (Joey's). So to make up for the long absence, I'll thrill you with our adventure to: Joeys (their apostrophe is missing, not mine)... Even though I was warned , I had to see it for myself. Joey's is Cowboy Ugly and the Pussy Cat Dolls Lounge all rolled into one, great-big southend jack shack. To get the full effect, we sat in the bar where all the waitresses are 1. Former female strippers, 2. Current female strippers, and 3. Really know how to sex up an entree so you'll want to buy it. At first, I was overcome with the smart, sleek interior design. I felt like I was at The Parker in Palm Springs . The architecture is open and modern, the colors hip, and the booths are sleek. I was so busy ogling the fabulous design that I didn't even s...

(New Feature!) J Tries Something Different

After an extended absence which involved first graduating, then spending a couple of months doing nothing that required thinking, J makes his triumphant return to Tummy Tukwila. Endlessly attending University of Washington has resulted in many routines that he is now trying to break. One of these routines is always ordering the same thing at restaurants. From now until 2010, J will select something he has never or rarely eaten at the T2 gang's familiar haunts, and review his experiences. August 4 Familiar Haunt: Joeys [sic] J's Routine: Better Beef Dip with Skinny Fries The T2 crew was joined for lunch today by frequent guest star Power Womon as they headed to Joeys for a healthy dose of T&A (that's "tasty" and "appetizing," pervert) vittles. At first, everyone tried something different--Joeys had a bland, unappealing male host instead of Paris Hilton, and the crew sat in the actual restaurant instead of the bar, an experience not unlike attending th...
